The way I see it, is that before everything, in that vast nothingness, where it was just the creator of the heavens and the earth. He imagined me, he imagined you, exactly how you are now. Not this fictional version of you that you apply to yourself. But how you were born, and what will become your various unchangeable insecurities.
He foreknew how the world would judge you according to their standards, but in his eyes he saw that you were still perfect. Because you were made in his image, so much so that in a snap of a finger, all things came into being. So who am I, who are you to stand and look in the eyes of the almighty God and say “you’re wrong?” How meager is human opinion? How small is my view compared to that of the almighty God?
Beauty standards fade as the beautiful, the leaves fall as the holiest of us. But there will come a time where it will renew as is the wisdom of God’s spring. So, I have come to learn that if what I perceive is contrary to God's objective knowledge, then what’s the point of holding on to that perception? Hasn’t God put to shame the opinions of this world?
Beauty Fades
“Looksmaxxing” is a demonic temptation. Love the way you were made. To hell with the judgments of this world, because this world is dying. If you are in Christ, you are truly living. Do not care about the standards of the dead.
If you are balding, so be it, if you have crooked teeth, so be it, if you have a big nose, so be it. Your skin will wrinkle like fruit, your hair will turn grey and fall out like the trees in winter. This is as sure as the sunrise bringing the morning, beauty fades and slouches over like the flower, all will be ugly in the end. Why waste time striving for what is temporary? Strive for what is eternal. All this time wasted in the chains of others, emancipate your mind from this world, seek liberty from yourself as the tyrant. Do not waste time and money on things that do not matter, for the spiritual side of man is what matters, as we are just visitors here on earth. Do not settle in the run-down place you visit on the way to the great city.
Focus on obtaining spiritual beauty, for that is what attracts the good woman that will be your wife. “Looks-Max” in love, this is the richest beauty, as a man can waste his entire life doing what does not matter. Live with Christ, fight the good fight in seeking to be like the perfect man. The book of Isaiah tells us that he was not a handsome man, but yet he is perfect.
“He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.” Isaiah 53:2.
Perfection is being like Christ—whose beauty was not in looks, but in his purity. Allow your light to shine upon others, and on the brink of your death you will know you have not wasted this life. The demons will burn in anguish seeing that you have won; like Christ did when he defeated death by death.
Know the goal, seek out the goal, die with this world and its distractions, grow in love, for love is all. Beauty fades, beauty standards are not the same as they were a year ago. So what’s the point of holding on to the innate human flaw of worrying of being judged for the way you look? What’s the point of worrying if people view you negatively because of your appearance? Isn’t God's objective view greater than theirs? So therefore, I have come to accept that fleeting earthly worries are worthless, and that the objective knowledge that the almighty God possesses is never fleeting, and never wrong. When we hold the opinion of a perishable man over the objectivity of God's perfect perspective, we are making mere human beings like God.
We are already bound by the chains of sin, so why are we imprisoning ourselves further? Why are we putting the shackles back on in a new way? Why are we further destroying ourselves by caring what human beings see? I have noticed living in this world, that true freedom comes from not imitating this world, but imitating the one who was not of this world. If you focus your entire life on what is unattainable, then you will miss what is attainable.
This world of men is perishing, the annual changing of standards are perishing. The riches of men will run dry, the beauty of women will fade, the minds of the intellectual will die. All things from the world of men that we chase endlessly, the fast cars, the big homes, the beautiful women, all of these will perish in a day or even a single moment. There is only one eternity, and that is God, all things except for God are perishable.
What I said long ago and what I will continue to say is that “a door is only as good as its hinge.” Meaning that a man is only good as what holds him up. If what holds you up is your beauty, then that is a weak hinge. All it takes is for the years to go by. If what holds you up is a career, then that is a weak hinge, all it takes is for a man in a black suit to speak a single word to make you tumble to the ground. If what holds you up is your spouse, then all it takes is for him or her to divorce you for you to tumble to the ground. If what holds you up is anything perishable, then all it takes is for what is perishable to perish to make you tumble to the floor. But if what holds you up is non-perishable, never fleeting, eternal, the giver of life, who will never leave you, who will never hurt you, you will be held up for eternity.
There is only one like this, and that is God. This is where most depression comes from, a thriving for what is fleeting and the depravity of God. There is only one thing that truly matters, and that is the love of God. God’s love is eternal and while we are here worrying about what is perishing, the world of men is ignorant towards that love, ignorant towards what is eternal. So much time we have wasted, hours, days, weeks, months. Countless amounts of money that we have spent on enhancing our appearance and how others perceive us. I have come to know if you do something that doesn't lead you to God, then that thing is a waste of time. The goal of this life is to be like God, so if we live contrary to the goal, what then are we doing?
How much money have we spent on makeup, face creams, hair dye, teeth whiteners, and other poisons to your skin, eyes and teeth? When will we just be happy with the way God made us? How much work could you have put in for God with that time and that money? When you are sick and old, the special treatment you get from others and your self-assigned value will run dry, and at that point, how will your vanity save you?
What is True Love? And Why Does This World Not Know it?
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-7
Beauty fades with time, and when all of your love is in what is perishable, your love will perish. But if it is in what is eternal, then it will never perish. Love is of the spirit, and love is not self-seeking. Lust is the passion of self-gratification, which cannot be love. Because, when you lust, you seek to use, you use to satisfy yourself and thus whoever this person is to you that you use becomes nothing more than a pawn.
A pawn in a game of chess has the righteous purpose to be used for the inherent good outcome of winning. But you, you use a poor woman to win no game, for no goal except to feel good for a single short moment. Then afterward that feeling fades and you are left with a stab wound you self inflicted. You use to lose, you play to die.
How can lust be love, and how can love be lust? How can evil be good, and how can good be evil? How can hate be love, and how can love be hate? A professor of mine articulated lust as an innate hunger like you have for food. She once said: “You cannot stop your stomach from growling, so how can you stop your body from acting?” This is a deceptive lie. As a man who has lusted for half of his life, it is like you eat, but you are left starving. It is like you drink, but your thrust is not quenched. Lust is a depravity of love, and if you do not love, then you are not alive.
The Evil of Looks-Maxxing Influencers
With this in mind, Looks maxxers use the common period of insecurity that comes with puberty as a tool to affirm these, oftentimes, fictional insecurities.
They then profit off of these kids who spend money on their jawline chewing gum, chewing balls, gay shoulder pads, face creams, etc. Or more directly sell them expensive courses that prey upon them. Now this in many ways is using psychological pressure against those who cannot consent for their own personal gain, this is a type of extortion. And…
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
Their degenerate behavior shows the nature of their spiritual death, the result of the privation of God. And they use a word that shows the old sins of the nations, vanity, and seeking to be a God without His grace. The word they use is “ascension”, to ascend into the secular perception of the perfect man.
News flash, there was only one perfect man, and the Bible says he was not attractive:
”He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.” Isaiah 53:2
And this is the man ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He showed us how to ascend with Him, and it is not via your “bone-smashing” or your skin creams or your hair style or your heathen attraction scales with your “sub-3’s.” It is based on your spiritual state, in which lies the perfect man. He is rich in spirit, not in his pockets, rich in love, not in his vanity, rich in God, not in death. The true “sub human” is the one who makes himself such by depriving himself of the life giving Spirit of God.
