We want to be straightforward about something. Keeping Theologians Bible online, the Fathers Library, the readers, the search, the AI study tools, all of it, costs us about $40 a month. Right now none of that is covered. This update does not add a paywall. It adds ways for anyone who wants to help carry that cost to actually do it.

You can now buy a docx, PDF, or EPUB copy of any of our Library Exclusives, the translations and editions that exist only here, for permanent offline use.

We want to be honest about what you are actually paying for. Anyone can copy the text off the page, paste it into a Google Doc, and export it as a docx or a PDF for free. Nothing stops that, and nothing should. But what you get from us is different: a properly formatted edition, built to be read as a book rather than pasted out of a browser, that is yours to keep forever with no account and no login required. If that is worth something to you, it is one direct way to support the work.

A Wall of Patrons

If you give $20 or more through Donorbox and fill out the patron form on the support page, your name goes on the Wall of Patrons, permanently. It is a small thing, but we wanted a real, lasting way to say thank you to the people who keep this running.

Our ongoing fight with AdSense

We should also tell you about a battle we are still in the middle of. AdSense keeps flagging this site's content as low value. We have close to seventeen hundred works from the Church Fathers, a full Bible in multiple translations, and study tools built by hand, and we have been going back and forth with them nonstop trying to get that fixed. The goal there is the simplest kind of support there is: you would not have to do anything at all except read. We are not there yet, but we have not stopped trying.

An Amazon link on every book

Every book in the Fathers Library now has a button that searches Amazon for that specific work. These are not our editions, and we want to be upfront about that too. But if you buy anything at all during that shopping session, we earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra and it helps us keep the lights on.

Fund New Translations

We also added a button, "Fund New Translations," to every book in the Fathers Library. It opens a donation dialog on the spot. We are always working on bringing more of the Fathers into English, and this is a direct way to support that specific ongoing work, right from the page of whatever you happen to be reading.

What we actually need

We need this project to bring in at least $40 a month to keep it running the way it is now, with everything free to read.
