2 Chronicles 15

1And Azarias the son of Oded—upon him came the Spirit of the Lord,Καὶ Ἀζαρίας υἱὸς Ὡδὴδ, ἐγένετο ἐπʼ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα Κυρίου.

2and he went out to meet Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin, and said, Hear me, Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin. The Lord is with you, while you are with him; and if you seek him out, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν Ἀσὰ καὶ παντὶ Ἰούδα καὶ Βενιαμὶν, καὶ εἶπεν, ἀκούσατέ μου Ἀσὰ, καὶ πᾶς Ἰούδα καὶ Βενιαμίν· Κύριος μεθʼ ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ εἶναι ὑμᾶς μετʼ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐὰν ἐκζητήσητε αὐτὸν εὑρεθήσεται ὑμῖν, καὶ ἐὰν ἐγκαταλείπητε αὐτὸν, ἐγκαταλείψει ὑμᾶς.

3And Israel has been a long time without the true God, and without a priest to expound the truth, and without the law.Καὶ ἡμέραι πολλαὶ τῷ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν οὐ Θεῷ ἀληθινῷ, καὶ οὐχ ἱερέως ὑποδεικνῦντος, καὶ ἐν οὐ νόμῳ.

4But he shall turn them to the Lord God of Israel, and he will be found of them.Καὶ ἐπιστρέψει αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ Κύριον Θεὸν Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ εὑρεθήσεται αὐτοῖς.

5And in that time there is no peace to one going out, or to one coming in, for the terror of the Lord is upon all that inhabit the lands.Καὶ ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ οὐκ ἔστιν εἰρήνη τῷ ἐκπορευομένῳ καὶ τῷ εἰσπορευομένῳ, ὅτι ἔκστασις Κυρίου ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὰς χώρας.

6And nation shall fight against nation, and city against city; for God has confounded them with every kind of affliction.Καὶ πολεμήσει ἔθνος πρὸς ἔθνος καὶ πόλις πρὸς πόλιν, ὅτι ὁ Θεὸς ἐξέστησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν πάσῃ θλίψει.

7But be you strong, and let not your hands be weakened: for there is a reward for your work.Καὶ ὑμεῖς ἰσχύσατε, καὶ μὴ ἐκλυέσθωσαν αἱ χεῖρες ὑμῶν, ὅτι ἔστι μισθὸς τῇ ἐργασίᾳ ὑμῶν.

8And when Asa heard these words, and the prophesy of Adad the prophet, then he strengthened himself, and cast out the abominations from all the land of Juda and Benjamin, and from the cities which Jeroboam possessed, in mount Ephraim, and he renewed the altar of the Lord, which was before the temple of the Lord.Καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαι τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ τὴν προφητείαν Ἀδὰδ τοῦ προφήτου, καὶ κατίσχυσε καὶ ἐξέβαλε τὰ βδελύγματα ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς γῆς Ἰούδα καὶ Βενιαμὶν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων ὧν κατέσχεν Ἱεροβοὰμ ἐν ὄρει Ἐφραὶμ, καὶ ἐνεκαίνισε τὸ θυσιαστήριον Κυρίου, ὃ ἦν ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ναοῦ Κυρίου.

9And he assembled Juda and Benjamin, and the strangers that lived with him, of Ephraim, and of Manasse, and of Symeon: for many of Israel were joined to him, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.Καὶ ἐξεκκλησίασε τὸν Ἰούδαν καὶ Βενιαμὶν καὶ τοὺς προσηλύτους τοὺς παροικοῦντας μετʼ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Ἐφραὶμ καὶ ἀπὸ Μανασσῆ καὶ ἀπὸ Συμεὼν, ὅτι προσετέθησαν πρὸς αὐτὸν πολλοὶ τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ ἰδεῖν αὐτοὺς, ὅτι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτοῦ.

10And they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.Καὶ συνήχθησαν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ τρίτῳ ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ πεντεκαιδεκάτῳ τῆς βασιλείας Ἀσά.

11And he sacrificed to the Lord in that day of the spoils which they brought, seven hundred calves and seven thousand sheep.Καὶ ἔθυσε τῷ Κυρίῳ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων ὧν ἤνεγκαν, μόσχους ἑπτακοσίους καὶ πρόβατα ἑπτακισχίλια.

12And he entered into a covenant that they should seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul.Καὶ διῆλθεν ἐν διαθήκῃ ζητῆσαι Κύριον Θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτῶν.

13And that whoever should not seek the Lord God of Israel, should die, whether young or old, whether man or woman.Καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν μὴ ἐκζητήσῃ τὸν Κύριον Θεὸν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ, ἀποθανεῖται ἀπὸ νεωτέρου ἕως πρεσβυτέρου, ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς ἕως γυναικός.

14And they swore to the Lord with a loud voice, and with trumpets, and with cornets.Καὶ ὤμοσαν ἐν Κυρίῳ ἐν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ ἐν σάλπιγξι καὶ ἐν κερατίναις.

15And all Juda rejoiced concerning the oath: for they swore with all their heart, and they sought him with all their desires; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.Καὶ εὐφράνθησαν πᾶς Ἰούδα περὶ τοῦ ὅρκου, ὅτι ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς ὤμοσαν, καὶ ἐν πάσῃ θελήσει ἐζήτησαν αὐτὸν· καὶ εὑρέθη αὐτοῖς, καὶ κατέπαυσε Κύριος αὐτοῖς κυκλόθεν.

16And he removed Maacha his mother from being priestess to Astarte; and he cut down the idol, and burnt it in the brook of Kedron.Καὶ τὴν Μααχὰ τὴν μητέρα αὐτοῦ μετέστησε τοῦ μὴ εἶναι τῇ Ἀστάρτῃ λειτουργοῦσαν, καὶ κατέκοψε τὸ εἴδωλον, καὶ κατέκαυσεν ἐν χειμάῤῥῳ Κέδρων.

17Nevertheless they removed not the high places: they still existed in Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.Πλὴν τὰ ὑψηλὰ οὐκ ἀπέστησαν, ἔτι ὑπῆρχεν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραήλ· ἀλλʼ ἡ καρδία Ἀσὰ ἐγένετο πλήρης πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτοῦ.

18And he brought in the holy things of David his father, and the holy things of the house of God, silver, and gold, and vessels.Καὶ εἰσήνεγκε τὰ ἅγια Δαυὶδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὰ ἅγια οἴκου τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ σκεύη.

19And there was no war waged with him until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.Καὶ πόλεμος οὖκ ἦν μετʼ αὐτοῦ ἕως τοῦ πέμπτου καὶ τριακοστοῦ ἔτους τῆς βασιλείας Ἀσά.
