2 Kingdoms 7
1And it came to pass when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him an inheritance on every side free from all his enemies round about him;Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐκάθισεν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ Κύριος κατεκληρονόμησεν αὐτὸν κύκλῳ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτοῦ τῶν κύκλῳ,
2that the king said to Nathan the prophet, Behold now, I live in a house of cedar, and the ark of the Lord dwells in the midst of a tent.καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Νάθαν τὸν προφήτην, ἰδοὺ δὴ ἐγὼ κατοικῶ ἐν οἴκῳ κεδρίνῳ, καὶ ἡ κιβωτὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ κάθηται ἐν μέσῳ τῆς σκηνῆς.
3And Nathan said to the king, Go and do all that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you.Καὶ εἶπε Νάθαν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα, πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου, βάδιζε καὶ ποίει, ὅτι Κύριος μετὰ σοῦ.
4And it came to pass in that night, that the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying,Καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ ἐγένετο ῥῆμα Κυρίου πρὸς Νάθαν, λέγων, πορεύου,
5Go, and say to my servant David, Thus says the Lord, You shall not build me a house for me to dwell in.καὶ εἶπον πρὸς τὸν δοῦλόν μου Δαυὶδ, τάδε λέγει Κύριος, οὐ σὺ οἰκοδομήσεις μοι οἶκον τοῦ κατοικῆσαί με.
6For I have not lived in a house from the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt to this day, but I have been walking in a lodge and in a tent,Ὅτι οὐ κατῴκηκα ἐν οἴκῳ ἀφʼ ἧς ἡμέρας ἀνήγαγον τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης, καὶ ἤμην ἐυπεριπατῶν ἐν καταλύματι καὶ ἐν σκηνῇ,
7wherever I went with all Israel. Have I ever spoken to any of the tribes of Israel, which I commanded to tend my people Israel, saying, Why have you not built me a house of Cedar?ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς διῆλθον ἐν παντὶ Ἰσραήλ· εἰ λαλῶν ἐλάλησα πρὸς μίαν φυλὴν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ, ᾧ ἐνετειλάμην ποιμαίνειν τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ, λέγων, ἱνατί οὐκ ᾠκοδομήκατέ μοι οἶκον κέδρινον;
8And now thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the Lord Almighty, I took you from the sheep-cote, that you should be a prince over my people, over Israel.Καὶ νῦν τάδε ἐρεῖς τῷ δούλῳ μου Δαυὶδ, τάδε λέγει Κύριος παντοκράτωρ, ἔλαβόν σε ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας τῶν προβάτων, τοῦ εἶναί σε εἰς ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ,
9And I was with you wherever you went, and I destroyed all your enemies before you, and I made you renowned according to the renown of the great ones on the earth.καὶ ἤμην μετὰ σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύου, καὶ ἐξωλόθρευσα πάντας τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ἀπὸ προσώπου σου, καὶ ἐποίησά σε ὀνομαστὸν κατὰ τὸ ὄνομα τῶν μεγάλων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
10And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant * them, and they shall dwell by themselves, and shall be no more distressed; and the son of iniquity shall no more afflict them, as he has done from the beginning,Καὶ θήσομαι τόπον τῷ λαῷ μου τῷ Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ καταφυτεύσω αὐτὸν, καὶ κατασκηνώσει καθʼ ἑαυτὸν, καὶ οὐ μεριμνήσει οὐκέτι· καὶ οὐ προσθήσει υἱὸς ἀδικίας τοῦ ταπεινῶσαι αὐτὸν, καθὼς ἀπʼ ἀρχῆς,
11from the days when I appointed judges over my people Israel: and I will give you rest from all your enemies, and the Lord will tell you that you shall build a house to him.ἀπὸ τῶν ἡμερῶν ὧν ἔταξα κριτὰς ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραήλ· καὶ ἀναπαύσω σε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου· καὶ ἀπαγγελεῖ σοι Κύριος, ὅτι οἶκον οἰκοδομήσεις αὐτῷ.
12And it shall come to pass when your days shall have been fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, even your own issue, and I will establish his kingdom.Καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν πληρωθῶσιν αἱ ἡμέραι σου, καὶ κοιμηθήσῃ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων σου, καὶ ἀναστήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου μετὰ σὲ, ὃς ἔσται ἐκ τῆς κοιλίας σου, καὶ ἑτοιμάσω τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ.
13He shall build for me a house to my name, and I will set up his throne even for ever.Αὐτὸς οἰκοδομήσει μοι οἶκον τῷ ὀνόματί μου, καὶ ἀνορθώσω τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ ἕως εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
14I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. And when he happens to transgress, then will I chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men.Ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ εἰς πατέρα, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν· καὶ ἐὰν ἔλθῃ ἡ ἀδικία αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐλέγξω αὐτὸν ἐν ῥάβδῳ ἀνδρῶν, καὶ ἐν ἁφαῖς υἱῶν ἀνθρώπων·
15But my mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from those whom I removed from my presence.Τὸ δὲ ἔλεός μου οὐκ ἀποστήσω ἀπʼ αὐτοῦ, καθὼς ἀπέστησα ἀφʼ ὧν ἀπέστησα ἐκ προσώπου μου.
16And his house shall be made sure, and his kingdom for ever before me, and his throne shall be set up for ever.Καὶ πιστωθήσεται ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ ἕως αἰῶνος ἐνώπιόν μου· καὶ ὁ θρόνος αὐτοῦ ἔσται ἀνωρθωμένος εἰς τον αἰῶνα.
17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.Κατὰ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους, καὶ κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν ὅρασιν ταύτην, οὕτως ἐλάλησε Νάθαν πρὸς Δαυίδ.
18And king David came in, and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord, my Lord, and what is my house, that you have loved me † hitherto?Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυὶδ, καὶ ἐνάθισεν ἐνώπιον Κυρίου, καὶ εἶπε, τίς εἰμι ἐγὼ, Κύριέ μου Κύριε, καὶ τίς ὁ οἶκός μου, ὅτι ἠγάπησάς με ἕως τούτων;
19Whereas I was very little before you, O Lord, my Lord, yet you spoke concerning the house of your servant for a long time to to come. And is this the law of man, O Lord, my Lord?Καὶ κατεσμικρύνθην μικρὸν ἐνώπίον σου, Κύριέ μου Κύριε, καὶ ἐλάλησας ὑπὲρ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ δούλου σου εἰς μακράν· οὗτος δὲ ὁ νόμος τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, Κύριέ μου Κύριε;
20And what shall David yet say to you? and now you know your servant, O Lord, my Lord.Καὶ τί προσθήσει Δαυὶδ ἔτι τοῦ λαλῆσαι πρὸς σέ; καὶ νῦν σὺ οἶδας τὸν δοῦλόν σου, Κύριέ μου Κύριε,
21And you have wrought for your servant's sake, and according to your heart you have wrought all this greatness, to make it known to your servant,καὶ διὰ τὸν δοῦλόν σου πεποίηκας, καὶ κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν σου ἐποίησας πᾶσαν τὴν μεγαλωσύνην ταύτην, γνωρίσαι τῷ δούλῳ σου, ἕνεκεν τοῦ μεγαλύναι σε
22that he may magnify you, O my Lord; for there is no one ‡ like you, and there is no God, but you among all of whom we have heard with our ears.Κύριέ μου· ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ὡς σὺ, καὶ οὐκ ἔστι Θεὸς πλὴν σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἠκούσαμεν ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ἡμῶν.
23And what other nation in the earth is as your people Israel? whereas God was his guide, to redeem for himself a people to make you a name, to do mightily and nobly, so that you should cast out nations and their tabernacles from the presence of your people, whom you did redeem for yourself out of Egypt?Καὶ τίς ὡς ὁ λαός σου Ἰσραὴλ ἔθνος ἄλλο ἐν τῇ γῇ; ὡς ὡδήγησεν αὐτὸν ὁ Θεὸς τοῦ λυτρώσασθαι αὐτῷ λαὸν, τοῦ θέσθαι σε ὄνομα, τοῦ ποιῆσαι μεγαλωσύνην καὶ ἐπιφάνειαν, τοῦ ἐκβαλεῖν σε ἐκ προσώπου τοῦ λαοῦ σου, οὓς ἐλυτρώσω σεαυτῷ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου, ἔθνη καὶ σκηνώματα;
24And you have prepared for yourself your people Israel to be a people for ever, and you, Lord, are become their God.Καὶ ἡτοίμασας σεαυτῷ τὸν λαόν σου Ἰσραὴλ εἰς λαὸν ἕως αἰῶνος, καὶ σὺ Κύριε ἐγένου αὐτοῖς εἰς Θεόν.
25And now, O my Lord, the Almighty Lord God of Israel, confirm the word for ever which you have spoken concerning your servant and his house: and now as you have said,Καὶ νῦν,
26Let your name be magnified for ever. §Μεγαλυνθείη τὸ ὄνομά σου ἕως αἰῶνος.
27Almighty Lord God of Israel, you have uncovered the ear of your servant, saying, I will build you a house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.Κύριε παντοκράτωρ Θεὸς Ἰσραὴλ, ἀπεκάλυψας τὸ ὠτίον τοῦ δούλου σου, λέγων, οἶκον οἰκοδομήσω σοι· διὰ τοῦτο εὗρεν ὁ δοῦλός σου τὴν καρδίαν ἑαυτοῦ τοῦ προσεύξασθαι πρὸς σὲ τὴν προσευχὴν ταύτην.
28And now, O Lord my Lord, you are God; and your words will be true, and you have spoken these good things concerning your servant.Καὶ νῦν,
29And now begin and bless the house of your servant, that it may continue for ever before you; for you, O Lord, my Lord, have spoken, and the house of your servant shall be blessed with your blessing so as to continue for ever.Καὶ νῦν ἄρξαι καὶ εὐλόγησον τὸν οἶκον τοῦ δούλου σου, τοῦ εἶναι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐνώπιόν σου· ὅτι σὺ Κύριέ μου Κύριε ἐλάλησας, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς εὐλογίας σου εὐλογηθήσεται ὁ οἶκος τοῦ δούλου σου τοῦ εἶναι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
