Esaias 54

1✡ Rejoice, you barren that bear not; break forth and cry, you that do not travail: for more are the children of the desolate than of her that has a husband: for the Lord has said,Εὐφράνθητι στεῖρα ἡ οὐ τίκτουσα, ῥῆξον καὶ βόησον ἡ οὐκ ὠδίνουσα, ὅτι πολλὰ τὰ τέκνα τῆς ἐρήμου, μᾶλλον ἢ τῆς ἐχούσης τὸν ἄνδρα· εἶπε γὰρ Κύριος,

2Enlarge the place of your tent, and of your curtains: fix the pins, spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your pins;πλάτυνον τὸν τόπον τῆς σκηνῆς σου, καὶ τῶν αὐλαιῶν σου, πῆξον, μὴ φείσῃ, μάκρυνον τὰ σχοινίσματά σου, καὶ τοὺς πασσάλους σου κατίσχυσον,

3spread forth your tent yet to the right and the left: for your seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and you shall make the desolate cities to be inhabited.ἔτι εἰς τὰ δεξιὰ καὶ τὰ ἀριστερὰ ἐκπέτασον· καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἔθνη κληρονομήσει, καὶ πόλεις ἠρημωμένας κατοικιεῖς.

4Fear not, because you have been put to shame, neither be confounded, because you were reproached: for you shall forget your * former shame, and shall no more at all remember the reproach of your widowhood.Μὴ φοβοῦ, ὅτι κατῃσχύνθης, μηδὲ ἐντραπῇς, ὅτι ὠνειδίσθης, ὅτι αἰσχύνην αἰώνιον ἐπιλήσῃ, καὶ ὄνειδος τῆς χηρείας σου οὐ μὴ μνησθήσῃ ἔτι.

5For it is the Lord that made you; the Lord of hosts is his name: and he that delivered you, he is the God of Israel, and shall be called so by the whole earth.Ὅτι Κύριος ὁ ποιῶν σε, Κύριος σαβαὼθ ὄνομα αὐτῷ· καὶ ὁ ῥυσάμενός σε, αὐτὸς Θεὸς Ἰσραὴλ, πάσῃ τῇ γῇ κληθήσεται.

6The Lord has not called you as a deserted and faint-hearted woman, nor as a woman hated from her youth, says your God.Οὐχ ὡς γυναῖκα καταλελειμμένην καὶ ὀλιγόψυχον κέκληκέ σε ὁ Κύριος, οὐδʼ ὡς γυναῖκα ἐκ νεότητος μεμισημένην, εἶπεν ὁ Θεός σου.

7For a little while I left you: but with great mercy will I have compassion upon you.Χρόνον μικρὸν κατέλιπόν σε, καὶ μετʼ ἐλέους μεγάλου ἐλεήσω σε.

8In a little wrath I turned away my face from you; but with everlasting mercy will I have compassion upon you, says the Lord that delivers you.Ἐν θυμῷ μικρῷ ἀπέστρεψα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ ἐν ἐλέει αἰωνίῳ ἐλεήσω σε, εἶπεν ὁ ῥυσάμενός σε Κύριος·

9From the time of the water of Noe this is my purpose: as I swore to him at that time, saying of the earth, I will no more be angry with you, neither when you are threatened,Ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ἐπὶ Νῶε τοῦτό μοι ἐστί· καθότι ὤμοσα αὐτῷ ἐν τῷ χρόνῳ ἐκείνῳ, τῇ γῇ μὴ θυμωθήσεσθαι ἐπὶ σοὶ ἔτι, μηδὲ ἐν ἀπειλῇ σου τὰ ὄρη μεταστήσεσθαι,

10shall the mountains depart, nor shall your hills be removed: so neither shall my mercy fail you, nor shall the covenant of your peace be at all removed: for † the Lord who is gracious to you has spoken it.οὐδʼ οἱ βουνοί σου μετακινηθήσονται· οὕτως οὐδὲ τὸ παρʼ ἐμοῦ σοι ἔλεος ἐκλείψει, οὐδὲ ἡ διαθήκη τῆς εἰρήνης σου οὐ μὴ μεταστῇ· εἶπε γὰρ ἵλεώς σοι Κύριε.

11Afflicted and outcast you have not been comforted: behold, I will prepare carbuncle for your stones, and sapphire for your foundations;Ταπεινὴ καὶ ἀκατάστατος οὐ παρεκλήθης· ἰδοὺ, ἐγὼ ἑτοιμάζω σοι ἄνθρακα τὸν λίθον σου, καὶ τὰ θεμέλιά σου σάπφειρον,

12and I will make your buttresses jasper, and your gates crystal, and your border precious stones.καὶ θήσω τὰς ἐπάλξεις σου ἴασπιν, καὶ τὰς πύλας σου λίθους κρυστάλλου, καὶ τὸν περίβολόν σου λίθους ἐκλεκτούς·

13✡ And I will cause all your sons to be taught of God, and your children to be in great peace.καὶ πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς σου διδακτοὺς Θεοῦ, καὶ ἐν πολλῇ εἰρήνῃ τὰ τέκνα σου.

14And you shall be built in righteousness: abstain from injustice, and you shall not fear; and trembling shall not come near you.Καὶ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ οἰκοδομηθήσῃ· ἀπέχου ἀπὸ ἀδίκου, καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσῃ, καὶ τρόμος οὐκ ἐγγιεῖ σοι.

15Behold, strangers shall come to you by me, and shall sojourn with you, and shall run to you for refuge.Ἰδοὺ προσήλυτοι προσελεύσονταί σοι διʼ ἐμοῦ, καὶ παροικήσουσί σοι, καὶ ἐπὶ σὲ καταφεύξονται.

16Behold, I have created you, not as the coppersmith blowing coals, and bringing out a vessel fit for work; but I have created you, not for ruin, that I should destroy you.Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἔκτισά σε, οὐχ ὡς χαλκεὺς φυσῶν ἄνθρακας, καὶ ἐκφέρων σκεῦος εἰς ἔργον· ἐγὼ δὲ ἔκτισά σε, οὐκ εἰς ἀπώλειαν φθεῖραι.

17I will not suffer any ‡ weapon formed against you to prosper; and every voice that shall rise up against you for judgment, you shall vanquish them all; and your adversaries shall be condemned thereby. There is an inheritance to them that serve the Lord, and you shall be righteous before me, says the Lord.Πᾶν σκεῦος σκευαστὸν ἐπὶ σὲ, οὐκ εὐοδώσω· καὶ πᾶσα φωνὴ ἀναστήσεται ἐπὶ σὲ εἰς κρίσιν, πάντας αὐτοὺς ἡττήσεις, οἱ δὲ ἔνοχοί σου ἔσονται ἐν αὐτῇ. Ἔστι κληρονομία τοῖς θεραπεύουσι Κύριον· καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθέ μοι δίκαιοι, λέγει Κύριος.
