Exodus 30

And you shall make the altar of incense of incorruptible wood.Καὶ ποιήσεις θυσιαστήριον θυμιάματος ἐκ ξύλων ἀσήπτων.

And you shall make it a cubit in length, and a cubit in breadth: it shall be square; and the height of it shall be of two cubits, its horns shall be * of the same piece.Καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτὸ πήχεος τὸ μῆκος, καὶ πήχεος τὸ εὖρος· τετράγωνον ἔσται· καὶ δύο πήχεων τὸ ὕψος· ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἔσται τὰ κέρατα αὐτοῦ.

And you shall gild its grate with pure gold, and its sides round about, and its horns; and you shall make for it a wreathen border of gold roundabout.Καὶ καταχρυσώσεις χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ τὴν ἐσχάραν αὐτοῦ, καὶ τοὺς τοίχους αὐτοῦ κύκλῳ, καὶ τὰ κέρατα αὐτοῦ· καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ στρεπτὴν στεφάνην χρυσῆν κύκλῳ.

And you shall make under its wreathen border two rings of pure gold; you shall make it to the two corners on the two sides, and they shall be bearings for the staves, so as to bear it with them.Καὶ δύο δακτυλίους χρυσοῦς καθαροὺς ποιήσεις ὑπὸ τὴν στρεπτὴν στεφάνην αὐτοῦ, εἰς τὰ δύο κλίτη ποιήσεις ἐν τοῖς δυσὶ πλευροῖς· καὶ ἔσονται ψαλίδες ταῖς σκυτάλαις, ὥστε αἴρειν αὐτὸ ἐν αὐταῖς.

And you shall make the staves of incorruptible wood, and shall gild them with gold.Καὶ ποιήσεις σκυτάλας ἐκ ξύλων ἀσήπτων, καὶ καταχρυσώσεις αὐτὰς χρυσίῳ.

And you shall set it before the veil that is over the ark of the testimonies, wherein I will make myself known to you from thence.Καὶ θήσεις αὐτὸ ἀπέναντι τοῦ καταπετάσματος, τοῦ ὄντος ἐπὶ τῆς κιβωτοῦ τῶν μαρτυρίων, ἐν οἷς γνωσθήσομαί σοι ἐκεῖθεν.

And Aaron shall burn upon it fine compound incense every morning; whenever he trims the lamps he shall burn incense upon it.Καὶ θυμιάσει ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ Ἀαρὼν θυμίαμα σύνθετον λεπτὸν τὸ πρωῒ πρωΐ· ὅταν ἐπισκευάζῃ τοὺς λύχνους, θυμιάσει ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ.

And when Aaron lights the lamps in the evening, he shall burn incense upon it; a constant incense-offering always before the Lord for their generations.Καὶ ὅταν ἐξάπτῃ Ἀαρὼν τοὺς λύχνους ὀψὲ, θυμιάσει ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ. θυμίαμα ἐνδελεχισμοῦ διαπαντὸς ἔναντι Κυρίου εἰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν.

And you shall not offer strange incense upon it, nor an offering made by fire, nor a sacrifice; and you shall not pour a drink-offering upon it.Καὶ οὐκ ἀνοίσει ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ θυμίαμα ἕτερον· κάρπωμα, θυσίαν, και σπονδὴν οὐ σπείσεις ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ.

And once in the year Aaron shall make atonement † on its horns, he shall purge it with the blood of purification for their generations: it is most holy to the Lord.Καὶ ἐξιλάσεται ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ Ἀαρὼν ἐπὶ τῶν κεράτων αὐτοῦ ἅπαξ τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ· ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ καθαριεῖ αὐτὸ εἰς γενεὰς αὐτῶν· ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων ἐστὶ Κυρίῳ.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,Καὶ ἑλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, λέγων,

If you take account of the children of Israel in the surveying of them, and they shall give every one a ransom for his soul to the Lord, then there shall not be among them a ‡ destruction in the visiting of them.ἐὰν λάβῃς τὸν συλλογισμὸν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῇ ἐπισκοπῇ αὐτῶν, καὶ δώσουσιν ἕκαστος λύτρα τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ Κυρίῳ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐν αὐτοῖς πτῶσις ἐν τῇ ἐπισκοπῇ αὐτῶν.

And this is what they shall give, as many as pass the survey, half a didrachm which is according to the didrachm of the sanctuary: twenty oboli go to the didrachm, but the half of the didrachm is the offering to the Lord.Καὶ τοῦτό ἐστιν ὅ δώσουσιν ὅσοι ἂν παραπορεύωνται τὴν ἐπίσκεψιν· τὸ ἥμισυ τοῦ διδράχμου ὅ ἐστιν κατὰ τὸ δίδραχμον τὸ ἅγιον, εἴκοσι ὀβολοὶ τὸ δίδραχμον, τὸ δὲ ἥμισυ τοῦ διδράχμου εἰσφορὰ Κυρίῳ.

Every one that passes the survey from twenty years old and upwards shall give the offering to the Lord.Πᾶς ὁ παραπορευόμενος εἰς τὴν ἐπίσκεψιν ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω, δώσουσι τὴν εἰσφορὰν Κυρίῳ.

The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than the half didrachm in giving the offering to the Lord, to make atonement for your souls.Ὁ πλουτῶν οὐ προσθήσει, καὶ ὁ πενόμενος οὐκ ἐλαττονήσει ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσεως τοῦ διδράχμου ἐν τῷ διδόναι τὴν εἰσφορὰν Κυρίῳ, ἐξιλάσασθαι περὶ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν.

And you shall take the money of the offering from the children of Israel, and shall give it for the service of the tabernacle of testimony; and it shall be to the children of Israel a memorial before the Lord, to make atonement for your souls.Καὶ λήψῃ τὸ ἀργύριον τῆς εἰσφορᾶς παρὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, καὶ δώσεις αὐτὸ εἰς τὸ κάτεργον τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου· καὶ ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ μνημόσυνον ἔναντι Κυρίου, ἐξιλάσασθαι περὶ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, λέγων,

Make a brazen laver, and a brazen base for it, § for washing; and you shall put it between the tabernacle of witness and the altar, and you shall pour forth water into it.ποίησον λουτῆρα χαλκοῦν, καὶ βάσιν αὐτῷ χαλκῆν, ὥστε νίπτεσθαι· καὶ θήσεις αὐτὸν ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου· καὶ ἐκχεεῖς εἰς αὐτὸν ὕδωρ.

And Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet with water from it.Καὶ νίψεται Ἀαρὼν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ ἑξ αὐτοῦ τὰς χεῖρας, καὶ τοὺς πόδας ὕδατι.

Whenever they shall go into the tabernacle of witness, they shall wash themselves with water, so they shall not die, whenever they advance to the altar to do service and to offer the whole burnt offerings to the Lord.Ὅταν εἰσπορεύωνται εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου, νίψονται ὕδατι, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσιν, ὅταν προσπορεύωνται πρὸς τὸ θυσιαστήριον λειτουργεῖν καὶ ἀναφέρειν τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα Κυρίῳ.

They shall wash their hands and feet with water, whenever they shall go into the tabernacle of witness; they shall wash themselves with water, that they die not; and it shall be for them a perpetual statute, for him and his ** posterity after him.Νίψονται τὰς χεῖρας καὶ τοὺς πόδας ὕδατι, ὅταν εἰσπορεύωνται εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου, νίψονται ὕδατι, ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνωσι· καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῖς νόμιμον αἰώνιον, αὐτῷ καὶ ταῖς γενεαῖς αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτόν.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, λέγων,

Do you also take sweet herbs, the flower of choice myrrh five hundred shekels, and the half of this two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet smelling cinnamon, and two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet smelling calamus,καὶ σὺ λάβε ἡδύσματα, τὸ ἄνθος σμύρνης ἐκλεκτῆς πεντακοσίους σίκλους, καὶ κινναμώμου εὐώδους τὸ ἥμισυ τούτου διακοσίους πεντήκοντα, καὶ καλάμου εὐώδους διακοσίους πεντήκοντα,

and of †† cassia five hundred shekels of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil.καὶ ἴρεως πεντακοσίους σίκλους τοῦ ἁγίου, καὶ ἔλαιον ἐξ ἐλαιῶν εἵν.

And you shall make it a holy anointing oil, a perfumed ointment tempered by the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.Καὶ ποιήσεις αὐτὸ ἔλαιον χρίσμα ἅγιον, μύρον μυρεψικὸν τέχνῃ μυρεψοῦ· ἔλαιον χρίσμα ἅγιον ἔσται.

And you shall anoint with it the tabernacle of witness, and the ark of the tabernacle of witness,Καὶ χρίσεις ἐξ αὐτοῦ τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῆς,

and all its furniture, and the candlestick and all its furniture, and the altar of incense,καὶ τὴν λυχνίαν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τοῦ θυμιάματος,

and the altar of whole burnt offerings and all its furniture, and the table and all its furniture, and the laver.καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τῶν ὁλοκαυτωμάτων καὶ πάντα αὐτοῦ τὰ σκεύη, καὶ τὴν τράπεζαν καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸν λουτῆρα.

And you shall sanctify them, and they shall be most holy: every one that touches them shall be hallowed.Καὶ ἁγιάσεις αὐτά· καὶ ἔσται ἅγια τῶν ἁγίων· πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος αὐτῶν, ἁγιασθήσεται.

And you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them that they may minister to me as priests.Καὶ Ἀαρὼν καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ χρίσεις, καὶ ἁγιάσεις αὐτοὺς ἱερατεύειν μοι.

And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, This shall be to you a holy anointing oil throughout your generations.Καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ λαλήσεις, λέγων, ἔλαιον ἄλειμμα χρίσεως ἅγιον ἔσται τοῦτο ὑμῖν εἰς τὰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν.

On man's flesh it shall not be poured, and you shall not make any for yourselves according to this composition: it is holy, and shall be holiness to you.Ἐπὶ σάρκα ἀνθρώπου οὐ χρισθήσεται· καὶ κατὰ τὴν σύνθεσιν ταύτην οὐ ποιήσετε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς ὡσαύτως· ἅγιόν ἐστιν, καὶ ἁγίασμα ἔσται ὑμῖν.

Whosoever shall make it in like manner, and whoever shall give of it to a stranger, shall be destroyed from among his people.Ὃς ἂν ποιήσῃ ὡσαύτως, καὶ ὃς ἂν δῷ ἀπʼ αὐτοῦ ἀλλογενεῖ, ἐξολοθρευθήσεται ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.

And the Lord said to Moses, Take for yourself sweet herbs, stacte, onycha, sweet galbanum, and transparent frankincense; there shall be ‡‡ an equal weight of each.Καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, λάβε σεαυτῷ ἡδύσματα, στακτήν, ὄνυχα, χαλβάνην ἡδυσμοῦ καὶ λίβανον διαφανῆ· ἴσον ἴσῳ ἔσται.

And they shall make with it perfumed incense, tempered with the art of a perfumer, a pure holy work.Καὶ ποιήσουσιν ἐν αὐτῷ θυμίαμα μυρεψικὸν ἔργον μυρεψοῦ μεμιγμένον, καθαρὸν ἔργον ἅγιον.

And of these you shall beat some small, and you shall put it before the testimonies in the tabernacle of testimony, whence I will make myself known to you: it shall be to you a most holy incense.Καὶ συνκόψεις ἐκ τούτων λεπτόν, καὶ θήσεις ἀπέναντι τῶν μαρτυρίων ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, ὅθεν γνωσθήσομαί σοι ἐκεῖθεν· ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων ἔσται ὑμῖν θυμίαμα.

You shall not make any for yourselves according to this composition; it shall be to you a holy thing for the Lord.Κατὰ τὴν σύνθεσιν ταύτην οὐ ποιήσετε ὑμῖν ἐαυτοῖς· ἁγίασμα ἔσται ὑμῖν Κυρίῳ·

Whosoever shall make any in like manner, so as §§ to smell it, shall perish from his people.Ὃς ἂν ποιήσῃ ὡσαύτως ὥστε ὀσφραίνεσθαι ἐν αὐτῷ, ἀπολεῖται ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.
