Genesis 36
1And these are the generations of Esau; this is Edom.Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ· αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ.
2And Esau took to himself wives of the daughters of the Chananites; Ada, the daughter of Aelom the Chettite; and Olibema, daughter of Ana the son of Sebegon, the Evite;Ἡσαῦ δὲ ἔλαβε τὰς γυναῖκας ἑαυτῷ ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων· τὴν Ἀδὰ, θυγατέρα Αἰλὼμ τοῦ Χετταίου· καὶ τὴν Ὀλιβεμὰ, θυγατέρα Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγὼν τοῦ Εὐαίου.
3and Basemath, daughter of Ismael, sister of Nabaioth.Καὶ τὴν Βασεμὰθ, θυγατέρα Ἰσμαὴλ, ἀδελφὴν Ναβαιώθ.
4And Ada bore to him Eliphas; and Basemath bore Raguel.Ἔτεκε δὲ αὐτῷ Ἀδὰ τὸν Ἑλιφάς· καὶ Βασεμὰθ ἔτεκε τὸν Ῥαγουήλ.
5And Olibema bore Jeus, and Jeglom, and Core; these are the sons of Esau, which were born to him in the land of Chanaan.Καὶ Ὀλιβεμὰ ἔτεκε τὸν Ἰεοὺς, καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ, καὶ τὸν Κορέ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ, οἳ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ ἐν γῇ Χαναάν.
6And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and all his possessions, and all his cattle, and all that he had got, and all things whatever he had acquired in the land of Chanaan; and Esau went forth from the land of Chanaan, from the face of his brother Jacob.Ἔλαβε δὲ Ἡσαῦ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ, καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ σώματα τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη, καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐκτήσατο, καὶ πάντα ὅσα περιεποιήσατο ἐν γῇ Χαναάν· καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ἡσαῦ ἐκ τῆς γῆς Χαναὰν ἀπὸ προσώπου Ἰακὼβ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ.
7For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojourning could not bear them, because of the abundance of their possessions.Ἦν γὰρ αὐτῶν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα πολλὰ, τοῦ οἰκεῖν ἅμα· καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἡ γῆ τῆς παροικήσεως αὐτῶν φέρειν αὐτοὺς, ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῶν.
8And Esau lived in mount Seir; Esau, he is Edom.Κατῴκησε δὲ Ἡσαῦ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηείρ· Ἡσαῦ αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ.
9And these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom in the mount Seir.Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ πατρὸς Ἐδὼμ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηείρ.
10And these are the names of the sons of Esau. Eliphas, the son of Ada, the wife of Esau; and Raguel, the son of Basemath, wife of Esau.Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ἡσαῦ· Ἑλιφὰς υἱὸς Ἀδὰς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· καὶ Ῥαγουὴλ υἱὸς Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
11And the sons of Eliphas were Thaeman, Omar, Sophar, Gothom, and Kenez.Ἐγένοντο δὲ Ἑλιφὰς υἱοὶ, Θαιμὰν, Ὠμὰρ, Σωφὰρ, Γοθὼμ, καὶ Κενέζ.
12And Thamna was a concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau; and she bore Amalec to Eliphas. These are the sons of Ada, the wife of Esau.Θαμνὰ δὲ ἦν παλλακὴ Ἑλιφὰς τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ· καὶ ἔτεκε τῷ Ἑλιφὰς τὸν Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδὰς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
13And these are the sons of Raguel; Nachoth, Zare, Some, and Moze. These were the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ῥαγουὴλ, Ναχὼθ, Ζαρὲ, Σομὲ, καὶ Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
14And these are the sons of Olibema, the daughter of Ana, the son of Sebegon, the wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau, Jeus, and Jeglom, and Core.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ὀλιβεμὰς θυγατρὸς Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγὼν, γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἔτεκε δὲ τῷ Ἡσαῦ τὸν Ἰεοὺς, καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ, καὶ τὸν Κορέ.
15These are the chiefs of the son of Esau, even the sons of Eliphas, the firstborn of Esau; chief Thaeman, chief Omar, chief Sophar, chief Kenez,Οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ· υἱοὶ Ἑλιφὰς πρωτοτόκου Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Θαιμὰν, ἡγεμὼν Ὠμὰρ, ἡγεμὼν Σωφὰρ, ἡγεμὼν Κενὲζ,
16chief Core, chief Gothom, chief Amalec. These are the chiefs of Eliphas, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Ada.ἡγεμὼν Κορὲ, ἡγεμὼν Γοθὼμ, ἡγεμὼν Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἑλιφὰς ἐν γῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδάς.
17And these are the sons of Raguel, the son of Esau; chief Nachoth, chief Zare, chief Some, chief Moze. These are the chiefs of Raguel, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau.Καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ῥαγουὴλ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ναχὼθ, ἡγεμὼν Ζαρὲ, ἡγεμὼν Σομὲ, ἡγεμὼν Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ῥαγουὴλ ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Βασεμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
18And these are the sons of Olibema, wife of Esau; chief Jeus, chief Jeglom, chief Core. These are the chiefs of Olibema, daughter of Ana, wife of Esau.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ὀλιβεμὰς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ἰεοὺς, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεγλὸμ, ἡγεμὼν Κορέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ὀλιβεμὰς θυγατρὸς Ἀνὰ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ.
19These are the sons of Esau, and these are the chiefs; these are the sons of Edom.Οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ, καὶ οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες αὐτῶν· οὗτοί εἰσιν υἱοὶ Ἐδώμ.
20And these are the sons of Seir, the Chorrhite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, Sobal, Sebegon, Ana,Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σηεὶρ τοῦ Χοῤῥαίου, τοῦ κατοικοῦντος τὴν γῆν· Λωτὰν, Σωβὰλ, Σεβεγὼν, Ἀνὰ,
21and Deson, and Asar, and Rison. These are the chiefs of the Chorrhite, the son of Seir, in the land of Edom.καὶ Δησὼν, καὶ Ἀσὰρ, καὶ Ῥισών· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες τοῦ Χοῤῥαίου, τοῦ υἱοῦ Σηεὶρ ἐν τῇ γῇ Ἐδώμ.
22And the sons of Lotan were Chorrhi and Haeman; and the sister of Lotan, Thamna.Ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Λωτάν· Χοῤῥὶ, καὶ Αἱμάν· ἀδελφὴ δὲ Λωτὰν, Θαμνά.
23And these are the sons of Sobal; Golam, and Manachath, and Gaebel, and Sophar, and Omar.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σωβάλ· Γωλὰμ, καὶ Μαναχὰθ, καὶ Γαιβὴλ, καὶ Σωφὰρ, καὶ Ὠμάρ.
24And these are the sons of Sebegon; Aie, and Ana; this is the Ana who found Jamin in the wilderness, when he tended the beasts of his father Sebegon.Καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Σεβεγὼν, Ἀϊὲ, καὶ Ἀνά· οὗτός ἐστιν Ἀνὰ, ὃς εὗρε τὸν Ἰαμεὶν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ὅτε ἔνεμε τὰ ὑποζύγια Σεβεγὼν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ·
25And these are the sons of Ana; Deson—and Olibema was daughter of Ana.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀνά· Δησὼν, καὶ Ὀλιβεμὰ θυγάτηρ Ἀνά.
26And these are the sons of Deson; Amada, and Asban, and Ithran, and Charrhan.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Δησών· Ἀμαδὰ, καὶ Ἀσβὰν, καὶ Ἰθρὰν, καὶ Χαῤῥάν.
27And these are the sons of Asar; Balaam, and Zucam, and Jucam.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀσάρ· Βαλαὰμ, καὶ Ζουκὰμ, καὶ Ἰουκάμ.
28And these are the sons of Rison; Hos, and Aran.Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ῥισὼν, Ὧς, καὶ Ἀράν.
29And these are the chiefs of Chorri; chief Lotan, chief Sobal, chief Sebegon, chief Ana,Οὗτοι δὲ ἡγεμόνες Χοῤῥί· ἡγεμὼν Λωτὰν, ἡγεμὼν Σωβὰλ, ἡγεμὼν Σεβεγὼν, ἡγεμὼν Ἀνὰ,
30chief Deson, chief Asar, chief Rison. These are the chiefs of Chorri, in their principalities in the land of Edom.ἡγεμὼν Δησὼν, ἡγεμὼν Ἀσὰρ, ἡγεμὼν Ῥισών· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Χοῤῥὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡγεμονίαις αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ.
31these are the kings which reigned in Edom, before a king reigned in Israel.Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ βασιλεύσαντες ἐν Ἐδὼμ, πρὸ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι βασιλέα ἐν Ἰσραήλ.
32And Balac, son of Beor, reigned in Edom; and the name of his city was Dennaba.Καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ἐδὼμ Βαλὰκ υἱὸς Βεώρ· καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ, Δενναβά.
33And Balac died; and Jobab, son of Zara, from Bosorrha reigned in his stead.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Βαλὰκ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Ἰωβὰβ υἱὸς Ζαρὰ ἐκ Βοσόῤῥας.
34And Jobab died; and Asom, from the land of the Thaemanites, reigned in his stead.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἰωβὰβ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Ἀσὼμ ἐκ τῆς γῆς Θαιμανών.
35And Asom died; and Adad son of Barad, who cut off Madiam in the plain of Moab, ruled in his stead; and the name of his city was Getthaim.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἀσὼμ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Ἀδὰδ υἱὸς Βαρὰδ ὁ ἐκκόψας Μαδιὰμ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ Μωάβ· καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Γετθαίμ.
36And Adad died; and Samada of Massecca reigned in his stead.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἀδὰδ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Σαμαδὰ ἐκ Μασσεκκάς.
37Samada died; and Saul of Rhooboth by the river reigned in his stead.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Σαμαδὰ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Σαοὺλ ἐκ Ῥοωβὼθ τῆς παρὰ ποταμόν.
38And Saul died; and Ballenon the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Σαοὺλ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Βαλλενὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ.
39And Ballenon the son of Achobor died; and Arad the son of Barad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Phogor; and the name of his wife was Metebeel, daughter of Matraith, son of Maizoob.Ἀπέθανε δὲ Βαλλενὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβὼρ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ Ἀρὰδ υἱὸς Βαράδ· καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Φογώρ· ὄνομα δὲ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ Μετεβεὴλ, θυγάτηρ Ματραῒθ, υἱοῦ Μαιζοώβ.
40These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, in their tribes, according to their place, in their countries, and in their nations; chief Thamna, chief Gola, chief Jether,Ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἡγεμόνων Ἡσαῦ, ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν, κατὰ τόπον αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν· ἡγεμὼν Θαμνὰ, ἡγεμὼν Γωλὰ, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεθὲρ,
41chief Olibema, chief Helas, chief Phinon,ἡγεμὼν Ὁλιβεμὰς, ἡγεμὼν Ἡλὰς, ἡγεμὼν Φινὼν,

43chief Magediel, chief Zaphoin. These are the chiefs of Edom in their dwelling-places in the land of their possession; this is Esau, the father of Edom.ἡγεμὼν Μαγεδιὴλ, ἡγεμὼν Ζαφωίν· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐδὼμ, ἐν ταῖς κατῳκοδομημέναις ἐν τῇ γῇ τῆς κτήσεως αὐτῶν· οὗτος Ἡσαῦ πατὴρ Ἐδώμ.
44And Jacob lived in the land where his father sojourned, in the land of Chanaan.
