Genesis 46

1And Israel departed, he and all that he had, and came to the well of the oath; and he offered sacrifice to the God of his father Isaac.Ἀπᾴρας δὲ Ἰσραὴλ, αὐτὸς καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ, ἦλθεν ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὅρκου· καὶ ἔθυσε θυσίαν τῷ Θεῷ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ Ἰσαάκ.

2And God spoke to Israel in a night vision, saying, Jacob, Jacob; and he said, What is it?Εἶπε δὲ ὁ Θεὸς τῷ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν ὁράματι τῆς νυκτὸς, εἰπὼν, Ἰακὼβ, Ἰακώβ· ὁ δὲ εἶπε, τί ἐστιν;

3And he says to him, I am the God of your fathers; fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will make you there a great nation.Ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐτῷ, ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ Θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σου· μὴ φοβοῦ καταβῆναι εἰς Αἴγυπτον· εἰς γὰρ ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω σε ἐκεῖ.

4And I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will bring you up at the end; and Joseph shall put his hands on your eyes.Καὶ ἐγὼ καταβήσομαι μετὰ σοῦ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ ἐγὼ ἀναβιβάσω σε εἰς τέλος· καὶ Ἰωσὴφ ἐπιβαλεῖ τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου.

5And Jacob rose up from the well of the oath; and the sons of Israel took up their father, and the baggage, and their wives on the wagons, which Joseph sent to take them.Ἀνέστη δὲ Ἰακὼβ ἀπὸ τοῦ φρέατος τοῦ ὅρκου· καὶ ἀνέλαβον οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν, καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν, καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτῶν, ἐπὶ τὰς ἁμάξας, ἃς ἀπέστειλεν Ἰωσὴφ ἆραι αὐτόν.

6And they took up their goods, and all their property, which they had gotten in the land of Chanaan; they came into the land of Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him.Καὶ ἀναλαβόντες τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν, καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν κτῆσιν, ἣν ἐκτήσαντο ἐκ γῇ Χαναὰν, εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον, Ἰακὼβ, καὶ πᾶν τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτοῦ.

7The sons, and the sons of his sons with him; his daughters, and the daughters of his daughters; and he brought all his seed into Egypt.Υἱοὶ, καὶ υἱοὶ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτοῦ· θυγατέρες, καὶ θυγατέρες τῶν θυγατέρων αὐτοῦ· καὶ πᾶν τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἤγαγεν εἰς Αἴγυπτον·

8And these are the names of the sons of Israel that went into Egypt with their father Jacob—Jacob and his sons. The firstborn of Jacob, Ruben.Ταῦτα δὲ τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ τῶν εἰσελθόντων εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἅμα Ἰακὼβ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτῶν. Ἰακὼβ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ· πρωτότοκος Ἰακὼβ, Ῥουβήν.

9And the sons of Ruben; Enoch, and Phallus, Asron, and Charmi.γἱοὶ δὲ Ῥουβὴν, Ἑνὼχ, καὶ Φαλλὸς, Ἀσρὼν, καὶ Χαρμί.

10and the sons of Symeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Aod, and Achin, and Saar, and Saul, the son of a Chananitish woman.Υἱοὶ δὲ Συμεὼν, Ἰεμουὴλ, καὶ Ἰαμεὶν, καὶ Ἀὼδ, καὶ Ἀχεὶν, καὶ Σαὰρ, καὶ Σαοὺλ υἱὸς τῆς Χανανίτιδος.

11And the sons of Levi; Gerson, Cath, and Merari.Υἱοὶ δὲ Λευὶ, Γηρσὼν, Κὰθ, καὶ Μεραρί.

12And the sons of Judas; Er, and Aunan, and Selom, and Phares, and Zara: and Er and Aunan died in the land of Chanaan.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ἰούδα, Ἢρ, καὶ Αὐνὰν, καὶ Σηλὼμ, καὶ Φαρὲς, καὶ Ζαρά· ἀπέθανε δὲ Ἢρ καὶ Αὐνὰν ἐν γῇ Χαναάν· ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Φαρὲς, Ἑσρὼν, καὶ Ἰεμουήλ.

13And the sons of Phares were Esron, and Jemuel. And the sons of Issachar; Thola, and Phua, and Asum, and Sambran.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ἰσσάχαρ, Θωλὰ, καὶ Φουὰ, καὶ Ἀσοὺμ, καὶ Σαμβράν.

14And the sons of Zabulun, Sered, and Allon, and Achoel.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ζαβουλὼν, Σερὲδ, καὶ Ἀλλὼν, καὶ Ἀχοήλ.

15These are the sons of Lea, which she bore to Jacob in Mesopotamia of Syria, and Dina his daughter; all the souls, sons and daughters, thirty-three.Οὗτοι υἱοὶ Λείας, οὓς ἔτεκε τῷ Ἰακὼβ ἐν Μεσοποταμίᾳ τῆς Συρίας, καὶ Δείναν τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ· πᾶσαι αἱ ψυχαί, υἱοὶ καὶ θυγατέρες, τριάκοντα τρεῖς.

16And the sons of Gad; Saphon, and Angis, and Sannis, and Thasoban, and Aedis, and Aroedis, and Areelis.Υἱοὶ δὲ Γάδ, Σαφὼν, καὶ Ἀγγὶς, καὶ Σαννὶς, καὶ Θασοβὰν, καὶ Ἀηδεὶς, καὶ Ἀροηδεὶς, καὶ Ἀρεηλείς.

17And the sons of Aser; Jemna, Jessua, and Jeul, and Baria, and Sara their sister. And the sons of Baria; Chobor, and Melchiil.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ἀσὴρ, Ἰεμνα, Ἰεσσουὰ, καὶ Ἰεοὺλ, καὶ βαριὰ, καὶ Σάρα ἀδελφὴ αὐτῶν. Υἱοὶ δὲ βαριὰ, Χοβὸρ, καὶ Μελχιΐλ.

18These are the sons of Zelpha, which Laban gave to his daughter Lea, who bore these to Jacob, sixteen souls.Οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ζελφᾶς, ἣν ἔδωκε Λάβαν Λείᾳ τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ, ἣ ἔτεκε τούτους τῷ Ἰακὼβ, δεκαὲξ ψυχάς.

19And the sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob; Joseph, and Benjamin.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ῥαχὴλ γυναικὸς Ἰακὼβ, Ἰωσὴφ, καὶ Βενιαμείν.

20And there were sons born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Aseneth, the daughter of Petephres, priest of Heliopolis, bore to him, even Manasses and Ephraim. And there were sons born to Manasses, which the Syrian concubine bore to him, even Machir. And Machir begot Galaad. And the sons of Ephraim, the brother of Manasses; Sutalaam, and Taam. And the sons of Sutalaam; Edom.Ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Ἰωσὴφ ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου, οὓς ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Ἀσενὲθ θυγάτηρ Πετεφρῆ ἱερέως Ἡλιουπόλεως, τὸν Μανασσῆ, καὶ τὸν Ἐφραίμ· ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Μανασσῆ, οὓς ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ ἡ παλλακὴ ἡ Σύρα, τὸν Μαχίρ· Μαχὶρ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Γαλαάδ· υἱοὶ δὲ Ἐφραὶμ ἀδελφοῦ Μανασσῆ, Σουταλαὰμ, καὶ Ταάμ· υἱοὶ δὲ Σουταλαὰμ, Ἐδώμ.

21and the sons of Benjamin; Bala, and Bochor, and Asbel. And the sons of Bala were Gera, and Noeman, and Anchis, and Ros, and Mamphim. And Gera begot Arad.Υἱοὶ δὲ Βενιαμεὶν, Βαλὰ καὶ Βοχὸρ, καὶ Ἀσβήλ. Ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Βαλὰ, Γηρὰ, καὶ Νοεμὰν, καὶ Ἀγχὶς, καὶ Ῥὼς, καὶ Μαμφίμ· Γηρὰ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀράδ.

22These are the sons of Rachel, which she bore to Jacob; all the souls eighteen.Οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ῥαχὴλ, οὓς ἔτεκε τῷ Ἰακώβ· πᾶσαι αἱ ψυχαὶ δεκαοκτώ.

23And the sons of Dan; Asom.Υἱοὶ δὲ Δὰν, Ἀσόμ.

24And the sons of Nephthalim; Asiel, and Goni, and Issaar, and Sollem.Καὶ υἱοὶ Νεφθαλὶ, Ἀσιὴλ, καὶ Γωνὶ, καὶ Ἰσσάαρ, καὶ Σολλήμ.

25These are the sons of Balla, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, who bore these to Jacob; all the souls, seven.Οὗτοι υἱοὶ Βαλλὰς, ἣν ἔδωκε Λάβαν Ῥαχὴλ τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ, ἣ ἔτεκε τούτους τῷ Ἰακὼβ, πᾶσαι αἱ ψυχαὶ ἑπτά.

26And all the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, who came out of his * loins, besides the wives of the sons of Jacob, even all the souls were sixty-six.Πᾶσαι δὲ ψυχαὶ αἱ εἰσελθοῦσαι μετὰ Ἰακὼβ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐκ τῶν μηρῶν αὐτοῦ, χωρὶς τῶν γυναικῶν υἱῶν Ἰακὼβ, πᾶσαι αἱ ψυχαὶ, ἑξηκονταέξ·

27And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in the land of Egypt, were nine souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob who came with Joseph into Egypt, were seventy-five souls.Υἱοὶ δὲ Ἰωσὴφ οἱ γενόμενοι αὐτῷ ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ψυχαὶ ἐννέα. Πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ οἴκου Ἰακὼβ, αἱ εἰσελθοῦσαι μετὰ Ἰακὼβ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, ψυχαὶ ἑβδομηκονταπέντε.

28And he sent Judas before him to Joseph, to meet him to the city of † Heroes, into the land of Ramesses.Τὸν δὲ Ἰούδαν ἀπέστειλεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ, συναντῆσαι αὐτῷ καθʼ Ἡρώων πόλιν, εἰς γῆν Ῥαμεσσῆ.

29And Joseph having ‡ made ready his chariots, went up to meet Israel his father, at the city of Heroes; and having appeared to him, fell on his neck, and wept with § abundant weeping.Ζεύξας δὲ Ἰωσὴφ τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ, ἀνέβη εἰς συνάντησιν Ἰσραὴλ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ, καθʼ Ἡρώων πόλιν· καὶ ὀφθεὶς αὐτῷ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔκλαυσε κλαυθμῷ πίονι.

30And Israel said to Joseph, After this I will gladly die, since I have seen your face, for you are yet living.Καὶ εἶπεν Ἰσραήλ πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ, ἀποθανοῦμαι ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν, ἐπεὶ ἑώρακα τὸ πρόσωπόν σου· ἔτι γὰρ σὺ ζῇς.

31And Joseph said to his brethren, I will go up and tell Pharao, and will say to him, My brethren, and my father's house, who were in the land of Chanaan, are come to me.Εἶπε δὲ Ἰωσὴφ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, ἀναβὰς ἀπαγγελῶ τῷ Φαραῷ, καὶ ἐρῶ αὐτῷ, οἱ ἀδελφοί μου, καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ πατρός μου, οἳ ἦσαν ἐν γῇ χαναὰν, ἥκασι πρός με.

32And the men are shepherds; for they have been feeders of cattle, and they have brought with them their cattle, and their kine, and all their property.Οἱ δὲ ἄνδρες εἰσὶ ποιμένες· ἄνδρες γὰρ κτηνοτρόφοι ἦσαν· καὶ τὰ κτήνη, καὶ τοὺς βόας, καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτῶν ἀγηόχασιν.

33If then Pharao call you, and say to you, What is you occupation?Ἐὰν οὖν καλέσῃ ὑμᾶς Φαραὼ, καὶ εἴπῃ ὑμῖν, τί τὸ ἔργον ὑμῶν ἐστι;

34You shall say, We your servants are herdsmen from our youth until now, both we and our fathers: that you may dwell in the land of Gesem of Arabia, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.Ἐρεῖτε, ἄνδρες κτηνοτρόφοι ἐσμὲν οἱ παῖδές σου ἐκ παιδὸς ἕως τοῦ νῦν, καὶ ἡμεῖς, καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν· ἵνα κατοικήσητε ἐν γῇ Γεσὲμ Ἀραβίας· βδέλυγμα γάρ ἐστιν Αἰγυπτίοις πᾶς ποιμὴν προβάτων.
