Nehemiah 7

1And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,Καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ᾠκοδομήθη τὸ τεῖχος, καὶ ἔστησα τὰς θύρας, καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ πυλωροὶ, καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες, καὶ οἱ Λευῖται,

2that I gave charge to Ananias my brother, and Ananias the ruler of the palace, over Jerusalem: for he was a true man, and one that feared God beyond many.καὶ ἐνετειλάμην τῷ Ἀνανίᾳ ἀδελφῷ μου, καὶ τῷ Ανανίᾳ ἄρχοντι τῆς βιρὰ ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ, ὅτι αὐτὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ ἀληθὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν Θεὸν παρὰ πολλούς.

3And I said to them, The gates of Jerusalem shall not be opened till sunrise; and while they are still watching, let the doors be shut, and bolted; and set watches of them that dwell in Jerusalem, every man at his post, and every man over against his house.Καὶ εἶπα αὐτοῖς, οὐκ ἀνοιγήσονται πύλαι Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἕως ἅμα τῷ ἡλίῳ· καὶ ἔτι αὐτῶν γρηγορούντων, κλειέσθωσαν αἱ θύραι, καὶ σφηνούσθωσαν· καὶ στῆσον προφύλακας οἰκούντων ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ, ἀνὴρ ἐν προφυλακῇ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀνὴρ ἀπέναντι οἰκίας αὐτοῦ.

4Now the city was wide and large; and the people were few in it, and the houses were not built.καὶ ἡ πόλις πλατεῖα καὶ μεγάλη, καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὀλίγος ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν οἰκίαι ᾠκοδομημέναι.

5And God put it into my heart, and I gathered the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, into companies: and I found a register of the company that came up first, and I found written in it as follows:Καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ Θεὸς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου, καὶ συνῆξα τοὺς ἐντίμους καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνοδίας· καὶ εὗρον βιβλίον τῆς συνοδίας οἳ ἀνέβησαν ἐν πρώτοις· καὶ εὗρον γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῷ,

6Now these are the children of the country, that came up from captivity, of the number which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon carried away, and they returned to Jerusalem and to Juda, every man to his city;Καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῆς χώρας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς ἀποικίας ἧς ἀπῴκισε Ναβουχοδονόσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος, καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ εἰς Ἰούδα ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ μετὰ Ζοροβάβελ,

7with Zorobabel, and Jesus, and Neemia, Azaria, and Reelma, Naemani, Mardochaeus, Balsan, Maspharath, Esdra, Boguia, Inaum, Baana, Masphar, men of the people of Israel.καὶ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ Νεεμία, Ἀζαρία, καὶ Ῥεελμὰ, Ναεμανὶ, Μαρδοχαῖος, Βαλσὰν, Μασφαρὰθ, Ἔσδρα, Βογουΐα, Ἰναοὺμ, Βαανὰ, Μασφὰρ, ἄνδρες λαοῦ Ἰσραήλ.

61And these went up from Thelmeleth, Thelaresa, Charub, Eron, Jemer: but they could not declare the houses of their families, or their seed, whether they were of Israel.Καὶ οὗτοι ἀνέβησαν ἀπὸ Θελμελὲθ, Θελαρησὰ, Χαροὺβ, Ἠρὼν, Ἰεμὴρ, καὶ οὐκ ἐδυνάσθησαν ἀπαγγεῖλαι οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν καὶ σπέρμα αὐτῶν, εἰ ἀπὸ Ἰσραὴλ εἰσίν·

62The children of Dalaia, the children of Tobia, the children of Necoda, six hundred and forty-two.γἱοὶ Δαλαία, υἱοὶ Τωβία, υἱοὶ Νεκωδὰ, ἑξακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταδύο.

63And of the priests; the children of Ebia, the children of Acos, the children of Berzelli, for they took wives of the daughters of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they were called by their name.Καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἱερέων, υἱοὶ Ἐβία, υἱοὶ Ἀκὼς, υἱοὶ Βερζελλὶ, ὅτι ἔλαβον ἀπὸ θυγατέρων Βερζελλὶ τοῦ Γαλααδίτου γυναῖκας, καὶ ἐκλήθησαν ἐπʼ ὀνόματι αὐτῶν.

64These sought the pedigree of their company, and it was not found, and they were removed as polluted from the priesthood.Οὗτοι ἐζήτησαν γραφὴν αὐτῶν τῆς συνοδίας, καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη· καὶ ἠγχιστεύθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἱερατείας.

65And the Athersastha said, that they should not eat of the most holy things, until a priest should stand up to give light.Καὶ εἶπεν ἀθερσασθὰ, ἵνα μὴ φάγωσιν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἁγίου τῶν ἁγίων, ἕως ἀναστῇ ἱερεὺς φωτίσων.

66And all the congregation was about forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,Καὶ ἐγένετο πᾶσα ἡ ἐκκλησία ὡσεὶ τέσσαρες μυριάδες δισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι ἐξήκοντα,

67-68besides their menservants and their maidservants: these were seven thousand three hundred and thirty seven: and the singing-men and singing-women, two hundred and forty-five.πάρεκ δούλων αὐτῶν καὶ παιδισκῶν αὐτῶν· οὗτοι ἑπτακισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριακονταεπτά· καὶ ᾄδοντες καὶ ᾄδουσαι, διακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταπέντε.

69Two thousand seven hundred asses.Ὄνοι δισχίλιοι ἑπτακόσιοι.

70And part of the heads of families gave into the treasury to Neemias for the work a thousand pieces of gold, fifty bowls, and thirty priests' garments.Καὶ ἀπὸ μέρους ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς τὸ ἐργον τῷ Νεεμίᾳ εἰς θησαυρὸν χρυσοῦς χιλίους, φιάλας πεντήκοντα, καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων τριάκοντα.

71And some of the heads of families gave into the treasuries of the work, twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand three hundred pounds of silver.Καὶ ἀπὸ ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς θησαυρούς τοῦ ἔργου χρυσοῦ νομίσματος δύο μυριάδας, καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας τριακοσίας.

72And the rest of the people gave twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' garments.Καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ κατάλοιποι τοῦ λαοῦ χρυσίου δύο μυριάδας, καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας διακοσίας, καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων ἑξηκονταεπτά.

73And the priests, and Levites, and porters, and singers, and some of the people, and the Nathinim, and all Israel, lived in their cities.Καὶ ἐκάθισαν οἱ ἱερεῖς, καὶ Λευῖται, καὶ οἱ πυλωροὶ, καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες, καὶ οἱ ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ οἱ Ναθινὶμ, καὶ πᾶς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν πόλεσιν αὐτῶν.
