I. Solomon’s Temple.

The principal rooms were the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. According to 1 Kings 6, the house was sixty cubits long, twenty wide, and thirty high; the inner sanctuary was a cube of twenty cubits. A vestibule stood before the eastern entrance. The Most Holy Place was dark, while the Holy Place was lit by lamps. Cedar walls and the cypress floor were carved with cherubim, palms, flowers, and open blossoms and overlaid with gold. Doors and a veil separated the holy spaces.
