(from the Hebrew verb pasach, to pass over) (Deut. 16:2–6; Ex. 12:3–20; Lev. 23:5–8; Num. 28:16–25)—the most important feast of the Hebrews. It was joined to the Feast of Unleavened Bread and appointed for the middle of the first month, Abib or Nisan, corresponding to the latter half of March and the first half of April.
