Fixed Feasts of the Church Year
These feasts keep the same date every year. Both columns are civil dates — the day to circle on a wall calendar. Parishes on the New (Revised Julian) Calendar keep the feast on the first; parishes on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep it thirteen days later, which is why their Nativity falls on 7 January. The Church year begins on 1 September, and the table follows that order. Every reference opens in the reader with the passage highlighted.
