(balsamic, fragrant, pleasant) — the names of two wives mentioned in the Book of Genesis, and of one in the Third Book of Kings: a) (Gen. 26:34) one of Esau’s wives, daughter of Elon, otherwise called Adah; b) one of Esau’s wives, daughter of Ishmael, otherwise called Mahalath (Gen. 28:9); c) daughter of Solomon, given in marriage to one of Solomon’s officers, Ahimaaz (1 Kings 4:15).
