Elimelech

(God is king) — a resident of Bethlehem, husband of Naomi, who, on account of the famine raging in the land of Judah, settled with his family in the land of Moab. When he and his sons died childless, Naomi returned with her daughters-in-law to the land of Judah; but one of them, Ruth, refused to leave her mother-in-law, and afterward married Elimelech’s kinsman, Boaz.
