Eliphaz

—(1) a son of Esau by Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite. His sons were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz; by his concubine Timna he also fathered Amalek (Gen. 36:4, 10-12; 1 Chron. 1:35-36). (2) Eliphaz the Temanite, one of Job’s three friends who came to mourn with and comfort him (Job 2:11). He speaks first in each cycle of debate; see Book of Job.
