Eunice
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(with good victory, Greek) (2 Tim. 1:5) — mother of Timothy, disciple and fellow worker of St. Paul the Apostle. Her faith is attested by the apostle as “unfeigned,” and she instructed her son Timothy from childhood in the faith and the sacred writings (2 Tim. 1:5; 3:15). In the book of Acts (16:1) it is said that she was by birth a Jewess, was married to a pagan, and afterward came to believe. Her memory is kept by the Church on October 28.
