Christ is the holy, innocent, undefiled High Priest, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens (Heb. 7:26). His enemies could not convict Him of sin; even Judas confessed that he had betrayed innocent blood (Matt. 27:4). The Gospels reveal the perfect union of purity and goodness: tender love for His Mother, compassion for the suffering, patience under hostility, courage before rulers, prayer through the night, tireless teaching by day, and willing obedience unto death.
