(Hebrew Kimah, as noted in the Russian Bible) (Job 9:9; 38:31; Amos 5:8)—a group of stars of which seven are visible to the unaided eye, represented on modern star charts near the constellation Taurus. Greek and Roman writers regarded their morning rising before sunrise as a sign of returning spring; the source associates it with the latter half of April.
