Razor
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(Num. 6:5)—an instrument for shaving. A Nazirite was not to let a razor pass over the head during the period of the vow (Num. 6:5). Ezekiel was commanded to use a sharp sword as a barber’s razor in a prophetic sign concerning Jerusalem (Ezek. 5:1). Psalm 52 compares a deceitful tongue that plots destruction to a sharpened razor, exposing the cutting harm of treacherous speech.
