Sepha
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(according to Gesenius, a hill or watch-hut) (1 Sam. 19:22)—a place mentioned only during Saul’s pursuit of David. Saul went to Ramah and reached “a great well that is in Sechu,” indicating that Sepha was a known place in or near Ramah. The source’s form corresponds to the place more commonly called Sechu.
