Siloam

(Isa. 8:6; John 9:7–11 and elsewhere)—the spring or reservoir of Siloam and the pool beside it, on the southeastern side of Jerusalem at the foot of Mount Zion and Mount Moriah. Some writers identified Siloam with En-rogel or Gihon. Scripture mentions its waters several times. John relates that the Lord made clay, anointed a blind man’s eyes, and sent him to wash in the Pool of Siloam; he went, washed, and received his sight (John 9:6–11). Luke records that the tower in Siloam fell and killed eighteen persons (Luke 13:4).
