(2 Kings 2:3, 5)—probably the disciples of the prophets, trained by them in the knowledge of the true religion, piety, and devotion. Schools of the prophets appear first to have been established by Samuel, and from them the Lord from time to time chose the instruments needed to accomplish His holy will.
