The General Epistle of Jude

closely resembles the Second General Epistle of Peter. It consists of one chapter containing twenty-five verses and was written because corrupt persons had appeared who defiled the flesh, rejected authority, and reviled dignities (v. 8). By examples from the Old Testament the epistle warns such ungodly people of God's severe punishment. It is thought to have been written by the apostle Jude before the Roman destruction of Jerusalem, toward the end of the first century according to the source's wording, when such people appeared.
