Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(2 Esdras 5:36) — the name given to a chieftain of the Israelites who came up out of the Babylonian captivity, from the localities of Thermeleth and Thelharsa, but who were unable to prove their descent from Israel. In Ezra 2:59 the name of a third locality from which they came is given, namely: Cherub, Addan, and Immer.
