(stream, fruit, produce, according to Fürst: rainy month) (1 Kings 6:38) — the proper name of one of the Hebrew months of the year, the eighth in the sacred and second in the civil year, corresponding to the second half of October and the first half of November; afterward called by the Hebrews Marcheshvan. In this autumn month the gathering of the grapes came to an end, and the rains began. During this same month the building of Solomon’s Temple, which had been seven and a half years in building, was completed (1 Kings 6:37, 38).
