(Acts 10:1) - a Roman centurion of the Italian cohort stationed at Caesarea. Although a Gentile, he led a devout life: he feared God with all his household, gave many alms to the people, and prayed to God continually (Acts 10:2). During prayer he saw an angel and received a revelation to summon Peter and receive from him the words of salvation, which he immediately obeyed. At the same time Peter received a supernatural vision, and the Spirit of God commanded him to go with Cornelius's messengers.
