Elkosh
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
— a word of unknown origin — a locality which, according to the testimony of Jerome, was in Galilee, but according to ancient tradition, on the river Tigris, near Mosul; notable as the birthplace of the prophet Nahum, for which reason he is called the Elkoshite (Nah. 1:1). The tomb of the prophet Nahum is also pointed out not far from Tiberias.
