Justice; Righteousness of God

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Ps. 89:14)—an essential perfection of God’s being and rule. God is wholly true, just, and faithful in his acts, commandments, judgments, mercy, and governance of creation: “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.” Divine justice is not arbitrary force. In Scripture it includes setting wrongs right, defending the oppressed, judging evil, keeping covenant, and saving sinners in a manner consistent with God’s holiness and love.
