Juttah

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Josh. 15:55; 21:16)—a town in the hill country of Judah assigned to the priests. It is commonly identified with the village of Yatta, south of Hebron. A later tradition placed the home of Zechariah and Elizabeth, and therefore Mary’s visit to Elizabeth, in this hill country (Luke 1:39-40), but Scripture does not name Juttah as that village.
