Millet
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(Ezek. 4:9)—a cereal that the source describes as one of the most widely cultivated grains of its day. It resembles wheat or rice, with a stalk rising about three feet and ending in a head containing a great number of grains. The grains are coarse and rough and in the East were used chiefly as animal feed, though millet is nutritious and may be eaten as groats or flour.
