Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Matt. 19:23, 24) — an abundance of external, temporal, and earthly blessings, as well as of higher, heavenly, spiritual blessings. Holy Scripture presents numerous examples of people who possessed at times great riches and an abundance of earthly goods, but who at the same time were pious and righteous people, such as, for example: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Boaz, David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Jehoshaphat, Job, Joseph of Arimathea, Bakcheus [?], and others.
