The Book of the Prophet Jonah

consists, as noted above, of four chapters. Its contents were described in the preceding article. Jonah himself may have written the book, though this has not been positively proved, and the precise time of composition is likewise unknown. Some have thought that it was written after the Babylonian captivity, but sufficient evidence for that view was not available to the source.
