(according to Gesenius, one of the tribe of Judah) — the name of various persons mentioned in Holy Scripture, such as: a) (Num. 1:10; 2:18) father of Elishama, chief of the sons of the tribe of Ephraim, at the numbering of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai; b) (Num. 34:28) father of Pedahel, of the sons of Naphtali, present together with other men at the division of the land of Canaan; c) (1 Chron. 9:4) father of Uthai, mentioned in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah; d) (Num. 34:20) father of Samuel, of the sons of Simeon, present at the division of the land of Canaan.
