— the name and designation of the following persons and localities: a) (1 Chron. 5:5, 6) a Reubenite, whose son Beerah was led away captive into Assyria by Tiglath-pileser; b) (1 Chron. 8:30; 9:36) son of Jeiel, forefather of the Gibeonites; c) (1 Chron. 4:33) a city of the tribe of Simeon, identical with Baalath-beer (Josh. 19:8); d) (Josh. 15:11) a mountain, located between Ekron and Jabneel. Through it passed the northern border of the tribe of Judah.
