Baal-gad
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(lord of fortune) (Josh. 11:17; 12:7; Judg. 3:3) — a city in the valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon, and probably the same as Baal-hermon (1 Chron. 5:23). By the valley of Lebanon here is meant not Coele-Syria, or the present-day Beqaa, between Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon, but the valley on the southern slope of Mount Hermon.
