Bahurim Baurim

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(young men) (2 Sam. 3:16; 16:5; 17:21; 1 Kings 2:8) — a town or settlement of the tribe of Benjamin, not far to the east of Jerusalem, on the road from Jerusalem to the Jordan. To this place Paltiel accompanied his wife Michal with tears, as he sent her back to David at Hebron. Here lived Shimei. Here, in a well, Jonathan and Ahimaaz hid from the pursuit of Absalom’s servants. The exact location of Bahurim is at present unknown.
