Beth-hoglah

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(house of the partridge) — a city of the tribe of Benjamin (Josh. 15:6). According to Jerome, it was located three miles from Jericho and two from the Jordan, on the borders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. It is thought to be the present-day city of Qasr Hajla, with a fine spring nearby, twenty or thirty minutes’ journey southwest of Ain Hajla.
