(shining) — the name of two persons: a) (Ezra 2:17) one of the men whose descendants returned from captivity with Zerubbabel. In Nehemiah (7:23) and in 2 Esdras (5:16): “Bassai”; b) (Neh. 5:18 [as given]) of the heads of the people, who pledged themselves under Nehemiah to be faithful to God and not to have marriage ties with foreigners.
