Gehazi

(valley of vision, according to Gesenius) (2 Kings 4:12) — servant of the prophet Elisha. Having deceitfully obtained from Naaman two talents of silver and two changes of garments, for the healing of Naaman by the prophet Elisha from leprosy, Gehazi himself was punished for his avarice with leprosy and dismissal from the prophet’s service (2 Kings 5:20–27). After this we find Gehazi at the court of King Joram, recounting to him the miracles of the prophet Elisha (2 Kings 8:5, 6).
