Giloh
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(that which uncovers) (Josh. 15:51) — a city of the tribe of Judah, birthplace and dwelling place of Ahithophel, David’s counselor (2 Sam. 15:12), in which he also took his own life (17:23). The location of Giloh has not yet been precisely determined, although in the book of Joshua this city is mentioned together with others to the south or southwest of Hebron.
