Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(thorn, thornbush) — the names of three persons: a) (1 Chron. 24:10) of the priests of David’s time; b) (Ezra 2:61) of a priestly family, whose sons, upon the return from captivity, could not produce their genealogical record and were therefore excluded from the priesthood; c) (Neh. 3:4–21) one of the ancestors of Meremoth, who repaired a section of the wall of Jerusalem near the Fish Gate.
