Jashobeam

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(the people will return) (1 Chr 27:2) - son of Zabdiel, commander of David's first monthly division and chief over all the military commanders for the first month. These commanders served David and assisted him in all his affairs month by month. Some regard him as the same person as Jashobeam in 1 Chronicles 11:11 and as the chief named in 2 Samuel 23:8.
