(the people will return) (1 Chr 11:11) - one of David's commanders, distinguished for strength and skill. The source identifies him with Jashobeam the Korhite (1 Chr 12:6) and Jashobeam son of Zabdiel (1 Chr 27:2), who joined David at Ziklag. His most celebrated feat was killing three hundred men at one time with his spear; 2 Samuel 23:8 gives the number as eight hundred.
