(Dan 5:25-28) — words wondrously written by the fingers of a man’s hand upon the wall of the palace during the feast of Belshazzar, king of Babylon. The prophet Daniel, called in on that occasion, explained the meaning of these words to the king as follows: God has numbered your kingdom, it has been weighed in the balances, and it is divided. It is known that Belshazzar was slain that very night by the Persians who were then besieging Babylon, and Darius the Mede ascended the Babylonian throne.
