Miracles and the Gospel.

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

Jesus appealed to His works as testimony: “Even though you do not believe Me, believe the works” (John 10:38). To John the Baptist’s messengers He answered that the blind received sight, the lame walked, lepers were cleansed, the deaf heard, the dead were raised, and good news was preached to the poor (Luke 7:19-22). The Gospels present His miracles as signs of the Kingdom and of His identity, not as spectacles detached from His teaching.
