—(1) a capable Levite brought from Casiphia with his sons and brothers to serve in the house of God; Ezra entrusted sacred silver, gold, and vessels to him and other leaders (Ezra 8:18, 24-29); (2) a Levite who explained the Law, joined the covenant, and led praise in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah (Neh. 8:7; 9:4-5; 10:12; 12:8, 24).
