(2 Sam. 2:24) — undoubtedly located in the vicinity of the city of Gibeon, as was also the valley of Gibeon, remarkable for Joshua’s victory over the five combined Amorite kings and the miracle worked here (Josh. 10:11). It is thought that the four cities named in the book of Joshua (9:17) constituted something in the nature of a federal state (cf. Josh. 10:2; 9:11).
