(shady) (Judg. 9:48; Ps. 68:14)—a wooded hill near Shechem, so densely shaded and snow-covered at its summit that it could be called a dark, shady mountain or, in the Psalmist’s words, white as snow. After taking Shechem, Abimelech cut branches there, piled them around the tower in which the people had taken refuge, and burned the tower with all the men and women inside.
