Zeboiim Seboim

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Deut. 29:23; Hos. 11:8)—a city of uncertain location in the Jordan Valley, apparently occupied by Canaanites (Gen. 10:19). Its king is named with the others defeated by the four allied kings (Gen. 14:2–8). Zeboiim was destroyed with Sodom and Gomorrah and is afterward mentioned only in connection with that event. It must not be confused with Zeboim in 1 Samuel 13:18 and Nehemiah 11:34; the places differ in spelling, location, and setting.
