(Job 38:32; 2 Kings 23:5). Observations of the sun, moon, and the periodic phenomena of various stars and constellations led the astronomers of antiquity to divide the year into months, to introduce a cyclical reckoning of years, and to divide the astronomical charts of the celestial hemispheres into twelve parts, called by the Greeks the zodiac.
